Highlander Sea was purchased in 2002 by Acheson Ventures, LLC, as Port Huron's flagship ambassador.

This 154 foot gaff-rigged topsail schooner was designed by W. Starling Burgess and built in 1924 in Essex, Massachusetts. Originally christened Pilot, she served 47 years as a Boston Harbor pilot ship.

Highlander Sea has returned to the Bean Dock (Seaway Terminal) after being at her winter berth at Port Huron Yacht Club.  Although the tall ship will not sail this season, area visitors and residents alike can view her from the Terminal's upper deck parking lot at 2336 Military Street (at the east end of I-69, coming into Port Huron).
