9/12/06 On August 18, 19, and 20, Acheson Ventures and Highlander Sea hosted the Sail Port Huron, Maritime Festival. The Royaliste and Unicorn were available for viewing at the Desmond Marine dock located at 207 Water Street.

The Niagara, Picton Castle, Pride of Baltimore II, and Highlander Sea were available for viewing at the Port Huron Terminal Company located at 2336 Military Street.

Tours of these magnificent sailing vessels took place for an admission charge of a non-perishable food item per person or a cash donation. Tons of food and generous cash donations benefited the Mid-City Nutrition Kitchen and local food banks.

J. Chester 'Skip' Armstrong demonstrated the art of woodcarving on Saturday and Sunday just south of the Great Lakes Maritime Center, along with various local artists including representative from Studio 1219. Musical entertainment from local artists was enjoyed throughout the weekend at the Seaway Terminal Bean Dock and Vantage Point. Visitors enjoyed a choice of food from the vendors at Vantage Point including Coffee Harbor, Anchor Fries, Ice Cream Trailer, 2 x 2 Concessions featuring elephant ears and Turtle Bay Cheesecake Company. Visitors also enjoyed the vendors at the Bean Dock that included the Guadalupe Mission with authentic Mexican food, SONS with grilled Kielbasa and hot dogs, and Bridge Builders featuring Schwan's Ice Cream and It’s a Poppin' Kettle Corn.

8/7/2006 Acheson Ventures is pleased to announce an additional ship for our Maritime Festival, Sail Port Huron. The tall ship, Royalist will join our line up of visiting ships, and will be at the Desmond Marine dockwith the tall ship Unicorn. Due to flooding in the New York canal system, Providence will not be able to attend. Pride of Baltimore II, Brig Niagara and Picton Castle will join our own Highlander Sea at the Port Huron Terminal Bean Dock. The ships' hours for Sail Port Huron are from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, August 18 and 19 and 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20. The price of admission is one non-perishable food item per person or a cash donation to Mid-City Nutrition. All proceeds will go to Mid-City Nutrition.
There will also be activities during this time and in the evening at Vantage Point, including folk singing and artist demonstration by J. Chester Armstrong (Saturday and Sunday). Artists of Studio 1219 and the area will be showing and selling their products.
3/15/2006 The 2006 Festival will take place over two weekends. June 24, 2006 will feature a magnificent fireworks display over the St. Clair River at Vantage Point. August 18-20, Acheson Ventures will host some magnificent sailing vessels for Sail Port Huron, a maritime festival.
6/25/2005 A free Wayne Newton concert sponsored by Acheson Ventures was enjoyed last evening by an estimated crowd of 8,500 at Port Huron High School's Memorial Stadium.
5/22/2005 Tickets for the Wayne Newton Concert were dispensed yesterday at McMorran Auditorium and throughout the weekend at Mainstreet Center on Huron Avenue in downtown Port Huron. Approximately 13 tons of food was collected in addition to monetary contributions. Acheson Ventures was pleased with the turnout and hopes everyone enjoys the concert.
3/4/2005 Tickets for the Wayne Newton Concert, scheduled for Friday, June 24, can be obtained at the McMorran Box Office on Saturday, May 21, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. till Noon. One ticket will be given in exchange for one non-perishable food item or $5 donation. There is a limit of 4 tickets per person. You must have a ticket to attend the concert.
1/3/2005 Feature entertainer for the 2005 Festival will be Wayne Newton. The concert is scheduled for Friday, June 24. Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, June 25.
